Creating PriceCraft: Leveraging Gen AI to Solve Workshop Pricing

After more than a decade in the training industry, I’ll say that I’ve faced nearly every challenge that comes with program management—from handling logistics to managing client expectations and delivering impactful sessions. 

But one issue kept popping up: pricing workshops.

It wasn’t just me. My wife, also a seasoned trainer, mentioned one day that no matter how well-structured her workshops were, pricing them remained a frustrating and time-consuming task. That’s when I realized that pricing workshops accurately wasn’t just a pain point—it was an opportunity for innovation.

The Spark Behind PriceCraft

The more I thought about it, the clearer it became: if trainers like us struggle with pricing workshops, there had to be a smarter way. I decided to create PriceCraft, but this wasn’t going to be just another calculator. I wanted something smarter, something that used advanced tools to provide expert pricing assessments while being easy to use.

That’s where Gen AI came into play.

Using Gen AI to Build an Expert Pricing Solution -  I leveraged Generative AI (Gen AI) to develop PriceCraft, integrating intelligent algorithms that do more than just crunch numbers—they understand the intricacies of workshop management. The AI considers:

  • Workshop focus (e.g., CliftonStrengths coaching, Change Management, Agile, SAFe, Learning Curation)
  • Industry-specific benchmarks (tech, education, healthcare, etc.)
  • Client types (corporate, non-profit, individual)

PriceCraft is more than a tool that generates quotes, it provides expert pricing assessments tailored to the context of your industry and specialization. With Gen AI, I was able to create a solution that analyses multiple factors simultaneously—like participant size, duration, customization needs, and market competitiveness—giving trainers, like my wife, insights beyond basic pricing.

Having worked in the Civil Service College, Singapore before, I used them as a client example and the topic of “Change Management” as a workshop specialization to create this sample.
